We visit Yogesh in his showroom in the trendy 7th district in Vienna and before we talk business, Yogesh invites us – as usual - for a freshly brewed coffee from the neighbouring hipster roastery, J. Hornig. This already tells something about his personality, Yogesh is not a person who likes to speed things up, instead he loves to dig into something with full commitment and enthusiasm.
"The nose is a fascinating organ, which is unfortunately often ignored in our fast-paced time."
In an industry dominated by big brands, there are not many places like Yogesh's perfume lab where interested people can experience much more than just the well-known fragrances that are available in all department stores around the world. So if you want to know more than just the existence of a basic, top and heart note, then Yogesh might be the right person to talk to.
We believe the big brands have for too long taken a purely marketing-driven but very profitable approach. However, the current zeitgeist could well be in line with Yogesh's concept of involving customers in the entire product development process. In doing so, customers not only become mere consumers, but also get to know the products they buy and start to appreciate the craftsmanship behind this mystified yet fascinating profession.
